Nothing could be simpler, or tastier, than this classic treat, in which a layer of chocolate is sandwiched between two cookies. It's not hard to see why Choco BN gradually replaced the traditional "pain et chocolat" ("bread and chocolate") as the snack of choice among French schoolchildren for their "4 o'clock snack", enjoyed during the afternoon break in their long school day. Secretly, they are a favorite among adults as well. These new larger boxes now contain 16 chocos.
So what does BN stand for? Biscuiterie Nantaise. Indeed, Nantes has been a capital of the French cookie industry, ever since cookie-making became the mainstay of the city's economy in the 19th century.

These wafer cookies are made by Eugene Blond, a renowned cookie maker in the Flandres region (north of France) since 1894. Deliciously crunchy, these wafers are composed of 2 layers of chocolate sandwiched between 2 thin crispy cookies. They are a delight for breakfast, tea or coffee or for a snack. These cookies are very famous in France, because of their taste, of course, but also because of the amusing French saying that is written on each one of the cookies. It is a great way to learn French while enjoying a snack! This pack contains 15 wafer cookies. Contains no artificial coloring nor preservative.
